Cette campagne vise, ainsi, à mieux informer la population sur les différents domaines de compétence du Défenseur des droits, le recours qu’il représente et la protection qu’il peut apporter par le droit.

Councils are putting foster children at a disadvantage compared to their peers when it comes to school transport, the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman has found. The Ombudsman is now asking councils across England to check their approach after it emerged foster children living further away from school than their peers were being treated differently by Warwickshire County Council.

El 26 de septiembre del corriente tuvo lugar el Taller sobre Agenda 2030 y el Rol de las Defensorías del Pueblo organizado por el Consejo de Derechos Humanos de la Defensoría del Pueblo de CABA. El Taller estuvo dirigido a las/los trabajadores/as de la Defensoría del Pueblo con el fin de introducir a los miembros de la Defensoría en el contenido y alcance de la Agenda 2030 y los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS). El encuentro contó con la participación de aproximadamente 200 personas.

2017-09-21National Ombudsmans visits colleague in Poland
“Independent, impartial and outreaching”; with these three terms Reinier van Zutphen, National Ombudsman of the Netherlands defined the central task of an ombudsman institute. He did so during a press conference at the office of the Polish ombudsman Mr Adam Bodnar. Mr Van Zutphen is also board member of the European Chapter of the de International Ombudsman Institute (IOI). The Dutch National Ombudsman visited his colleague for a two day meeting sharing best practices and experiences.

The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) in case C-409/16, which was recently published, was asked to reply to a request for a preliminary ruling addressed to it by the Greek Council of the State, regarding compliance of the minimum height requirement for admission to Police Academy of at least 1.70m, common for both sexes.
