    Manitoba Ombudsman releases 2014 annual reports

    Manitoba Ombudsman Charlene Paquin has released her office’s annual reports for the calendar year 2014, including a report under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) and a separate report under The Ombudsman Act and The Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) Act (PIDA).

    ACRC Korea and Commonwealth Ombudsman sign MoU

    The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) of Korea (Chairman Sungbo Lee) and the Commonwealth Ombudsman of Australia (Ombudsman Colin Neave) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Canberra on June 10th, 2015 in order to enhance rights and interests of Koreans and Australians living in the other country and cooperation between the two Ombudsmen.

    FRA presents report on achievements 2014

    The annual report of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) for 2014 examines fundamental rights-related developments in equality and non-discrimination; racism, xenophobia and related intolerance; Roma integration; asylum, borders, immigration and integration; information society, privacy and data protection; the rights of the child; access to justice including rights of crime victims; and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and its use by Member States.     Ombudsman Punjab constitutes Jails Inspection Committees

    Ombudsman Punjab Javed Mahmood, in the light of the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan, has constituted Ombudsman Jail Inspection Committees for all districts and tehsils of the province. Ombudsman Jail Inspection Committees at district and tehsil level have made first inspection visit of district/tehsil sub-jails and started preparing report on the state of affairs of the jails for onward submission to Supreme Court.
