El defensor del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe, Raúl Lamberto, presentará este miércoles a las 8.15 en la plaza Pringles de la ciudad de Rosario (Córdoba entre Roca y Rioja) dos vehículos con los que la institución comenzará a realizar atención a la ciudadanía de manera itinerante por barrios y localidades de toda la provincia de Santa Fe. Los móviles cuentan con todo lo necesario para que profesionales de la Defensoría se desplacen hasta diferentes puntos para escuchar y responder los planteos de los ciudadanos, acercando de esta manera el organismo a todos los santafesinos.

The Ontario Ombudsman has opened registration for "Sharpening Your Teeth: Advanced Investigative Training for Administrative Watchdogs” training course, and is offering a special rate for IOI members. Register today by emailing training@ombudsman.on.ca. The course takes place November 5-7, 2018, in Toronto, Ontario and covers investigation planning, interviewing, assessing evidence, report writing, and using digital and social media tools to conduct and publicize an investigation.

A mother and her five children were accommodated in a damp and mouldy single bedroom, too small for the number of people, by Ealing council while it took too long to decide their homelessness status. A Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman investigation found the council’s delays added three months onto a six month stay in the unsuitable accommodation.

The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) took part in the conference ‘SDGs, Climate and the Future of Europe’ on 31 May in Milan, organised by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development. The meeting discussed the key role that the EU can play towards advancing the 2030 agenda and will feed into a European Commission reflection paper on the subject.

Victorian Ombudsman Deborah Glass has begun a follow up investigation to her previous Investigation into the management of complex workers compensation claims and WorkSafe oversight. In that 2016 investigation, she found that Victoria’s workers compensation scheme had failed some particularly vulnerable people.

The NSW Ombudsman’s Office Annual Report: 2021-22 has been tabled in Parliament. The report provides insight to the 24,874 contacts received by the office in the financial year to 30 June 2022. These included 12,363 actionable complaints, which highlight the diversity of issues raised by NSW citizens accessing services from NSW Government agencies, local councils and certain community-service providers.
