The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI), part of the Office of the Ombudsman of Samoa, has completed its public inquiry into family violence, its first national inquiry. Headed by Samoan Ombudsman Maiava Iulai Toma, the inquiry commissioners began work on the report in late 2016, and it was publicly released in September 2018.

La institución dirigida por Raúl Lamberto envió oficios al Ministerio de Ambiente, de Producción y la Secretaría de Turismo. Los cotos de caza no existen formalmente en el territorio santafesino, aunque establecimientos pueden inscribirse como “operadores cinegéticos” en caso de “especies exóticas que amenacen a ecosistemas, hábitats o especies nativas”.

Taking the Initiative
The International Ombudsman Institute and the Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman recently held a joint conference in Belfast to explore best practice in the exercise of ‘Own Initiative’ investigation powers. Held over two days, the conference attracted practitioners, academics and interested parties from around 30 countries.

Las oficinas móviles atendieron más de 1.000 casos en los primeros cuatro meses
El defensor del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe, Raúl Lamberto, presentó un balance del funcionamiento de las oficinas móviles a cuatro meses de su puesta en funcionamiento. Contó que las unidades de atención llegaron a 39 localidades de la provincia y barrios de Rosario y Santa Fe. “Nos propusimos ser una institución de cercanía”, explicó.
