El pasado 15 de abril de 2021el Congreso de los Diputados aprobó el poyecto de la Ley Orgánica de Protección Integral a la Infancia a la Adolescencia. El trabajo que viene realizando esta Institución como Defensor del Menor de Andalucía, junto con el Ararteko y el Síndic de Greuges, ha merecido el reconocimiento como agentes que han contribuido con su trabajo a la aprobación del Proyecto de la Ley Orgánica de Protección Integral a la Infancia y a la Adolescencia frente a la violencia.

Ombudsman submits National Ordinances regarding cuts to employment benefits to the Constitutional Court for review
On April 26th, 2021 the Ombudsman of Sint Maarten, Gwendolien Mossel, after careful consideration, submitted the three national ordinances, in connection with cuts to the employment benefits of all (semi) public sector workers, to the Constitutional Court for review. The three national ordinances are: the Temporary National Ordinance Covid-19 cuts, Temporary National Ordinance to amend the terms of employment of political authorities and Temporary National Ordinance on the standardization of top incomes and adjustment of employment conditions at (semi-) public sector entities.

Public service complaints to the Ombudsman rise by 11%
Complaints to the Ombudsman about public services rose by 11% to over 3,500 in 2014. Launching his annual report today (Wednesday 10 June) Ombudsman Peter Tyndall said the increase was mainly due to the additional 200 public bodies which came within his jurisdiction for a full year for the first time in 2014. These included bodies in the education sector such as the State Examinations Commission and Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI).

Le Défenseur des droits, Jacques Toubon, suit avec attention la situation des migrants dont le campement a été évacué ce matin par les forces de l’ordre à Paris dans le Xe arrondissement. Il partage les préoccupations des pouvoirs publics sur les risques, notamment sanitaires, encourus par ces hommes, ces femmes et ces enfants qui, depuis plusieurs mois vivaient dans la rue.

People’s Advocate Position With Regard To The Large Number Of Personal Data Of Albanian Citizens Compromised For Political Purposes
Given the concerns of a large number of citizens regarding allegations of the collection and use of their personal data by a political entity, specifically the Socialist Party of Albania, the Institution of the People's Advocate states that obtaining and using personal data of citizens by any political party is illegal, unless the citizens themselves have given a special written authorization for their use for the permitted purpose, or for other concrete cases provided by the legislation in force.

While addressing members of the Federal Advisory Committee on Reforms and Speedy Complaint Resolution and Federal and Provincial Ombudsmen of Pakistan, the President of Pakistan expressed his appreciation of the concept of speedy resolution of complaints at the doorsteps of the common man, free of cost, evolved by the Ombudsmen and the committee. Primera Cumbre Iberoamericana sobre Derechos Humanos, Migrantes y Trata de Personas
El Defensor del Pueblo Adjunto y Defensor de los Derechos del Turista y del Extranjero, José Palmiotti, y el subsecretario de Derechos del Turista, Mario Pironi, participaron de la Primera Cumbre Iberoamericana sobre Derechos Humanos, Migrantes y Trata de Personas, celebrada el 12 y 13 de mayo en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia. El encuentro, convocado por la Federación Iberoamericana del Ombudsman (FIO), fue organizado conjuntamente por la Red de Migrantes y Trata de esa Federación y la Defensoría del Pueblo de Colombia, y contó con el apoyo de la cooperación alemana GIZ.
