The Ontario Legislatures select Committee on the Ombudsman (1982) Brian Goodman A description of the Committee, its history and relationship with the Office of the Ombudsman. Brian Goodman was Counsel and Special Advisor to the Ombudsman for Ontario. He has appeared before the Select Committee on the Ombudsman on numerous occasions since its inception. Mr. Goodman is now Executive Director, The Ministry of Labour -Provinceof Ontario.

Ombudsman engages Sierra Leone police
The Ombudsman of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Leon Jenkins-Johnston esq. and team from the Office of the Ombudsman has engaged Senior Police officers at various divisions in the western Area. The engagement is part of the ongoing sensitization drive that the ombudsman started few months ago to meet with MDA’s.

Ombudsman welcomes Venice Principles
On 2 May 2019, the Meeting of the Ministers’ Deputies of the Council of Europe endorsed the “Principles on the Protection and Promotion of the Ombudsman Institution” (“The Venice Principles”). The Gibraltar Public Services Ombudsman, welcomes the Venice Principles and fully supports the implementation of these internationally accepted standards.

Ombudsman marks Children's Day
The promotion and defense of the rights of the child are fundamental tasks of the State and of the community, being assumed not only as ethical duties, but also as obligations that have already reached the juridical level, based on national and international instruments. Therefore, celebrating the day of the child implies to affirm its singularity as a holder of autonomous rights, specifically recognized to meet the special needs demanded by the different stages of development of childhood and adolescence.
