Today, WHO/Europe has published interim guidance on how to deal with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in prisons and other places of detention, entitled “Preparedness, prevention and control of COVID-19 in prisons and other places of detention”. The guidance provides useful information to staff and health care providers working in prisons, and to prison authorities.

In light of recent developments concerning the outbreak and rapid spread of the COVID19 disease alternative dates are now being sought for 12th IOI World Conference and General Assembly, which was to be held in Dublin from 17 – 22 May 2020. A la vista de las acontecimientos recientes acerca de la rápida extención del virus COVID 19, estamos tratando de encontrar una fecha alternativa para celebrar la 12ª Conferencia Mundial y Asamblea General del IIO, que se debía llevar a cabo en Dublín los días 17 – 22 de mayo de 2020. Recomendación para prevenir Coronavirus en prisión
El Procurador Penitenciario de la Nación, Francisco Mugnolo, recomendó la elaboración de un protocolo para la prevención del Coronavirus (COVID-19) a fin de garantizar la salud y protección de las personas detenidas. Solicitó a las autoridades penitenciarias tomar las medidas correspondientes de higiene y salubridad en las distintas dependencias de detención. La propuesta se suma a la reciente acordada de la Cámara Federal de Casación Penal.

El Yuan de Control imputa a un juez, manteniendo la disciplina de los funcionarios públicos
Un juez de la Corte del Distrito de Hsinchu, pidió a su asistente que manejara algunos de sus asuntos privados y le hiciera un masaje de raspado durante el ejercicio de su cargo. Tales acciones violan gravemente la Ley de Jueces y las normas de ética de jueces. El Yuan de Control (YC) aprobó y publicó el caso de imputación contra este juez, remitiendo el caso al Yuan Judicial para su revisión.

Desde la Defensoría de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes de Santa Fe entendemos que –en medio de este contexto sanitario signado por la situación epidemiológica del coronavirus (COVID-19)– evitar los espacios y tiempos compartidos con muchas personas contribuirá a reducir las posibilidades de contagio. Por ello, apoyamos la determinación del Estado Nacional de suspender del 16 al 31 de marzo las clases de todos los niveles: inicial, primaria y secundaria. Esta medida, que se asume con gran esfuerzo, se centra en la prevención.

The Catalan Ombudsman and the IOI started a debate in Europe on artificial intelligence and human rights in Barcelona. The conference brought together institutions, experts, business representatives, Ombudsman and representatives of human rights structures. Participants consider it necessary and urgent to regulate the guarantee of human rights in international treaties, which could be violated by the application of artificial intelligence.
