NSW Ombudsman tables report on Operation Prospect
The report of the NSW Ombudsman investigation known as “Operation Prospect” is a comprehensive investigation of allegations and complaints about the conduct of officers of the NSW Police Force (NSWPF), the NSW Crime Commission (NSWCC) and the Police Integrity Commission (PIC). The six volume report culminates the largest investigation to have been undertaken by an Ombudsman in Australia.

Canadian Council of Parliamentary Ombudsman welcomes Prince Edward Island's first Ombudsperson
Prince Edward Island’s (PEI) becomes the latest province to appoint an independent officer responsible for ensuring fairness and providing a safe avenue for whistleblower complaints in the public service. Sandy Hermiston will take office as the province’s first Ombudsperson and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner on 14 February 2022. The Canadian Council of Parliamentary Ombudsman (CCPO) warmly welcomes the news.

L’Île-du-Prince-Édouard devient la dernière province à nommer un agent indépendant chargé d’assurer l’équité et d’offrir un moyen sûr de déposer des plaintes en divulgation dans la fonction publique. À titre d’ombudsman de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard, Sandy Hermiston entrera en fonction le 14 février 2022 et deviendra la première ombudsperson et commissaire à la divulgation dans l’intérêt public de la province. Les petites filles menacées de mutilations génitales et qui ont fui leur pays sont reconnues réfugiées en Belgique. Elles bénéficient d’une protection contre un retour forcé au pays, mais pas nécessairement leurs parents. À l’aube de la Journée internationale de la tolérance zéro à l'égard des mutilations génitales féminines ce 6 février, le Médiateur fédéral a adressé une recommandation à la Chambre des représentants. Chaque enfant a droit à une vie de famille.

Lancée le 12 février 2021, la plateforme antidiscriminations.fr est le dispositif de réponse dédié du Défenseur des droits en matière de lutte contre les discriminations. Un an après, le Défenseur des droits enregistre une augmentation de 25% des saisines en matière de lutte contre les discriminations.
