La Defensoría del Pueblo advierte que más de 824 mil personas en todo el territorio nacional podrían verse afectadas en su integridad y en sus medios de subsistencia, debido a la baja ejecución de los presupuestos que han sido destinados para mitigar los efectos de las heladas y friaje. En ese sentido, instó a los tres niveles de gobierno a intervenir de manera oportuna y eficiente en aquellas zonas en las que la población esté más expuesta a dichos fenómenos naturales.

2024-08-01Ombudsman challenges ISS position on unemployment benefit for victims of domestic violence
The Ombudsman’s Office has pleaded with the Social Security Institute (ISS) the right to unemployment benefits for victims of domestic violence who have terminated their employment contracts under the terms of the Decent Work Agenda Law, in force since May 2023. A different position is being adopted by the ISS, which only recognises this right in cases of termination after 1 December 2023.
