Application to the Constitutional Court regarding campaign financing
The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights requested the Constitutional Court to examine the provision of the Act on Electoral Procedure which limits in HUF 1 million per candidate the amount that can be used during the electoral campaign for Members of Parliament. The Ombudsman has invited the Constitutional Court to examine also a possible failure to act by the law-maker in connection with the control of the utilisation of campaign funds.

The Albanian Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities responded to the official note on measures to be taken for the improvement of conditions and treatment of women and children accommodated in the Centre for Reception and Treatment of the Victims of Violence.

To execute the functions of NPM, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleymanova and the members of NPM group regularly conduct short-term and long-term visits to temporary detention places, psychiatric hospitals, penitentiary facilities, places of deprivation of liberty and places of restriction of liberty.

First Staff Exchange Program with Asian-Pacific Counterparts
The 2012 Staff Exchange Program between the Control Yuan and Asian-Pacific Ombudsman and Human Rights Offices was held from May 7 to May 9. The program helped participants to deepen mutual understanding and friendship. Six participants from the following six countries took part: Indonesia, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Philippines and Thailand.
