The Solomon Islands Ombudsman and his executive successfully completed a two days’ Good Decision-Making Training Workshop with the Senior Management Team of the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI). The workshop was based on the theme: “Cutting the Cost of Bad Decision Making in Public Offices” and was held at the St Barnabas Leaf Haus in Honiara, from 3rd to 4th of October, 2022.

El Yuan de Control concede gran importancia a la reconstrucción de Hualien y Taitung tras el terremoto ocurrido antes del Año Nuevo Chino en febrero de 2018, por lo que envió 4 miembros del Comité de Supervisiones para realizar una visita de inspección del 29 a 31 de marzo, a fin de conocer la situación de los refugios para los damnificados y la reconstrucción del Condado de Hualien, además de revisar las obras del Gobiernos del Condado de Taitung.

El programa europeo DEMOS, que lidera el Diputado del Común, ha convocado el Concurso Escolar Canario de Dibujos sobre Derechos Humanos. Una iniciativa que nace con la voluntad de promover la concienciación entre los estudiantes canarios sobre la importancia de los Derechos Humanos, fomentar el pensamiento crítico, ético y cívico y, en definitiva, cooperar en la construcción de una sociedad más justa e igualitaria.

Irish Ombudsman Peter Tyndall today welcomed Minister Michael Creed’s announcement that he will implement an Ombudsman recommendation that a Donegal family receive compensation of €245,570. The announcement follows an initial refusal in 2009 by the then Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to implement the recommendation.

2018-04-26Complaints to Toronto Ombudsman up in 2017
City of Toronto Ombudsman Susan Opler released the institution's 2017 Annual Report. She says that in 2017, her office handled nearly 1650 complaints about City services, up 7% from the year before. Poor communication continues to be a factor in many complaints her office receives. Ombudsman Toronto published nine reports in 2017, making 65 recommendations that improved fairness in how the City of Toronto serves people.
