Yukon Human Rights Commission investigated for fairness
The Yukon Ombudsman has released an investigative report on three separate complaints against the Yukon Human Rights Commission (HRC). The investigation found unfairness in the organization’s operations and made eight recommendations to the HRC, and the Department of Justice combined.

Chancellor of Justice received the highest international recognition
The Chancellor of Justice received the A-status accreditation as a national human rights institution by the GANHRI Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA). The decision on accreditation preceded by a submission of a comprehensive statement on the independence, mandate and composition of the institution of the Chancellor of Justice, and an oral hearing by the SCA in December last year.

El Procurador del Común abre en el año 2021 38.345 nuevos expedientes, que corresponden a 2.030 quejas y 44 actuaciones de oficio
Este año se ha adoptado una nueva metodología estadística que permite ofrecer datos más completos. León y Burgos encabezan las provincias que acumulan un mayor número de quejas de la Comunidad. La Administración Local, Familia, Empleo Público y Sanidad acaparan el mayor número de quejas y de expedientes. Se han abierto 14 nuevas quejas múltiples que han dado lugar a más de 36.000 expedientes.

Austrian Ministry for International Affairs grants IOI status as “international institution”
As of 1 January 2022, the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) holds a status as “International Institution” in accordance with the Austrian Act on Headquarter Locations (Amtssitzgesetz). With this new status, the IOI will be able to increase its presence as an independent, international organization, the voice of Ombudsman institutions around the world and the authoritative body on Ombudsman matters.

Proportion of Indigenous Women in Federal Custody Nears 50%: Correctional Investigator Issues Statement
Ottawa, December 17, 2021 – Today, the Correctional Investigator, Dr. Ivan Zinger, released new data that shows that the proportion of incarcerated Indigenous women has continued to increase unabated, and is nearing 50% of all federally-sentenced women. On January 21, 2020, the Office of the Correctional Investigator reported that the proportion of Indigenous men and women in federal custody had reached a new historic high, surpassing 30% of the overall incarcerated population. The combined men and women Indigenous proportion in federal corrections is now 32%, and climbing.

Dimbokro: Stage d’Immersion Professionnelle du Nouveau Médiateur Délégué du Sud-Comoé
Du 21 au 31 juillet 2024, Monsieur SEKA Michel, Médiateur délégué de la région du Sud Comoé, a séjourné à Dimbokro au siège de la délégation régionale du Médiateur de la République. Cette période d’immersion professionnelle de dix jours a permis à Monsieur SEKA de se familiariser avec sa nouvelle fonction de médiateur délégué.
