On 2 October 2024, the governments of the EU Member States appointed the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman as judge to the Court of Justice of the European Union. He will be sworn in and take office on 7 October 2024. For the same reason, Niels Fenger resigns as Ombudsman, with effect from the same day.

 2024-10-02Ombudsman’s recommendations to address issues arising from the implementation of “Universal Coverage for Emergency Patients” policy
The Universal Coverage for Emergency Patients is a government policy presented to the parliament by the Council of Ministers. The Council of Ministers has approved the criteria, methoos, and conditions for determining costs associated with treating critical emergency patients under the UCEP policy. As this policy involves multiple government agencies and ministries, the Thailand Ombudsman’s fact-finding results and recommendations have been submitted to the Prime Minister for review and appropriate action.

En su intervención, abordó la creciente complejidad del entorno digital y sus implicancias en los derechos de niñas, niños y adolescentes, resaltando la necesidad de adaptar las instituciones a estos cambios.
