La Defensoría del Pueblo solicita a las autoridades nacionales del sector salud considerar con prioridad a la población penitenciaria y sus especiales condiciones de vulnerabilidad, en todas las estrategias sanitarias para enfrentar la pandemia, en particular, en el proceso de inmunización contra el COVID-19 y la aplicación de la dosis de refuerzo.

En cualquier momento del año, pero sobre todo en verano en que se exponen más los cuerpos, todos debemos poder ir a la playa sin preocuparnos por el qué dirán o cómo nos mirarán”, dijo el Ombudsman quien este viernes respaldó con su presencia el lanzamiento de dicho programa en la ciudad que en todo el país impulsa el Instituto Nacional de Lucha contra la Discriminación, Xenofobia y Racismo (Inadi).

Les petites filles menacées de mutilations génitales et qui ont fui leur pays sont reconnues réfugiées en Belgique. Elles bénéficient d’une protection contre un retour forcé au pays, mais pas nécessairement leurs parents. À l’aube de la Journée internationale de la tolérance zéro à l'égard des mutilations génitales féminines ce 6 février, le Médiateur fédéral a adressé une recommandation à la Chambre des représentants. Chaque enfant a droit à une vie de famille.

Cette sortie l’a conduite respectivement chez madame Amina Moussou OUEDRAOGO qui a dirigé l’institution de 2005 à 2011 et chez madame Alima Déborah TRAORE qui a été aux commandes de 2011 à 2017.

National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture visited some places of detention that had been visited by the SPT and CPT delegations during their last periodic visits (in 2017 by the CPT and in 2018 by the SPT). The NMPT visits were thematic ones and focused on verifying the recommendations of the monitoring bodies.

L’Office de la Protection du Citoyen (OPC), Institution Nationale indépendante de Droits Humains, condamne sans réserve, les attaques violentes perpétrées contre le sous-commissariat de Bon Repos survenues dans la nuit du 30 au 31 janvier 2022 et qui ont occasionné la mort par balles d’un policier : Joseph Jork Blada. Un autre policier est sorti grièvement blessé au cours de ces attaques.

2024-09-12Pregnant woman turned away after Ealing council uses outdated definition of domestic abuse, Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman says
Ealing council wrongly turned away a pregnant woman who approached it for help with housing, despite police and other agencies saying it was not safe for her to return to her tenancy in another area. The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman was asked to investigate. It found the council used an outdated, narrow definition of domestic abuse, limiting it to physical attacks.

Pursuant to Section 10(4) of the Ombudsman Act 1995, the Ombudsman, Judge Emeritus Joseph Zammit McKeon, has submitted the Ombudsplan 2025 to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon. Anġlu Farrugia. The Ombudsplan 2025 sets out the planned activities and initiatives that the Office of the Ombudsman aims to undertake in the coming year. It also provides Parliament with an update on the concerns raised in the previous year’s Ombudsplan.

Under the Inspector of Detention Services Act 2022 the Queensland Ombudsman, Mr Anthony Reilly, is also the Inspector of Detention Services.
