New report sees NHRIs hold up a mirror to the rule of law situation in Europe
For the third year in a row, National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) from around Europe have reported on challenges in the rule of law landscape in their countries. At the same time, they highlight NHRI actions to safeguard the rule of law and address recommendations to state authorities and European policy makers. These insights are compiled in ENNHRI’s third annual report on the state of the rule of law in Europe.

Esther Giménez-Salinas ha tomado posesión del cargo de Síndica de Greuges en un acto que ha tenido lugar en el Palacio del Parlamento de Cataluña. Giménez-Salinas fue elegida por el Parlamento de Cataluña el pasado 30 de junio, con 91 votos a favor y 39 en contra.

Ambas resoluciones establecen los mejores estándares internacionales que instituciones como el Ararteko deben cumplir para proteger mejor los derechos humanos.

Finalizó el Congreso Internacional de Mediación
Este jueves culminó el Congreso Internacional de Mediación que organizó la Defensoría del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe y se desarrolló durante los días 5, 6 y 7 de julio en el auditorio de la Bolsa de Comercio de la ciudad Rosario bajo la consigna “El abordaje del conflicto en la agenda global”.

2021 Report: Cases handled rise 6% to a new high
In 2021, a record volume of 12,219 new cases were processed, as a result of a 6% annual increase in the number of complaints admitted. Based on 2017, the beginning of the first mandate of the current Ombudsman, Maria Lúcia Amaral, the accumulated growth in the number of new complaints processed is 57%.

CY urges Executive Yuan to supervise ministries and local governments in improving traffic safety environment for children
The Control Yuan (CY) Transportation and Procurement Affairs Committee has reviewed and approved an investigation report pointing out that traffic accidents have long been the leading cause of fatal injuries among children in Taiwan. The population of children in Taiwan has experienced negative growth for two consecutive years.
