Mr. Mehmet AKARCA has been elected at the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) as the new Chief Ombudsman of the Republic of Türkiye. Mr. Mehmet Akarca was sworn in on 03 December 2024 and officially took office as the new Chief Ombudsman of Türkiye.

Peter Boshier has released a report that outlines serious concerns about human rights abuses at the unit which is based at Auckland Prison.

2024-12-19Successful completion of third phase of awareness campaign about role, responsibility and importance of Provincial Ombudsman
After successful completion of the 2nd phase of the project, the Hon'ble Provincial Ombudsman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, decided to expand the awareness program throughout the province. Accordingly, different districts were visited for the purpose. So far, total 18 districts have been visited and awareness campaigns have been organized. This project has been sponsored by the IOI’s Regional Subsidy Programme.

2022-08-11L'Ombudsman de l'Ontario publie son rapport annuel 2021-2022
L’Ombudsman de l’Ontario, Paul Dubé, a fait savoir le 10 août 2022 que les préoccupations et les plaintes du public adressées à son bureau de « chien de garde provincial » sont presque revenues à leurs niveaux prépandémiques. Son bureau a traité 25 161 plaintes et demandes de renseignements durant l’année financière 2021-2022, soit une hausse de 25 % par rapport à l’année précédente. La plupart (52 %) ont été résolues en deux semaines ou moins.

This is especially true for children and young people who need to be hospitalised in the psychiatric sector.
