Veterans Ombud announces the 2024 Commendations recipients
On 28 November 2024, the Veterans Ombud Colonel (Ret’d) Nishika Jardine presented nine 2024 Veterans Ombud Commendations to recipients at a virtual ceremony. The award recognizes and honours the dedication, hard work and selfless motivation of an individual or group's contribution to Canada's Veterans and their families.

Ombudsman will host the inaugural International Ombudsman Summit 2024 on 3 December 2024
The Office of the Ombudsman of Hong Kong, China will host the inaugural International Ombudsman Summit 2024 on 3 December 2024 (Tuesday) at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, West Kowloon Cultural District. This significant event also marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Office, with an Anniversary Reception planned for the evening to celebrate this important milestone. South Australian Ombudsman's 2023-24 Annual Report tabled in parliament
The South Australian Ombudsman’s 2023-24 Annual Report was tabled in parliament on Tuesday 15 October 2024. The Ombudsman, Ms Emily Strickland, reported a five per cent increase in the number of complaints received – rising to just over 4600. More than 180 complaints were resolved by agreement including through the use of statutory conciliation powers.

Taxpayers' Ombudsperson releases 2023–2024 Annual Report
Canada’s Taxpayers’ Ombudsperson, Mr. François Boileau, released his annual report, Fair Access to Service, which was tabled on 8 October 2024 in the House of Commons by Ms. Iqra Khalid, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Revenue. Alleged non-payment of 2020 nursing industrial awards for nurses in Central province
In 2020, the Post Courier reported an alleged understaffing of nursing personnel and unpaid nursing awards for nurses in Central province. The Ombudsman Commission invoked its power and registered an own initiative complaint and investigated the matter after having knowledge of the media publication. On 23 February 2024, the Central Provincial Health Authority informed the Ombudsman Commission that all the outstanding nurses’ awards were paid.

The report outlines the work of the Office for the year, including receipt of 2,437 complaints and 12,079 enquiries, finalisation of 95% of complaints within 3 months and the acceptance of all recommendations.
