Velislava Delcheva is the new Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria
With 123 votes in favour, 92 against and 5 abstentions, MPs elected Velislava Delcheva as the new Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria. She was supported by the votes of GERB-SDS, BSP-United Left, ITN, DPS-New Beginning, and four independent MPs.

ACRC Introduces Generative AI to the e-People System - Initiating Innovation in AI-Based Civil Complaint Services
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission launched the pilot generative AI service based on a domestic large language model. It plans to continuously advance its civil complaint services by incorporating AI technology into various civil complaint handling tasks.

Ombudsman tables Special Report on Marine and Ports
Michael DeSilva, the Ombudsman for Bermuda, has submitted a Special Report to the Speaker of the House of Assembly. The report, entitled "Between a Dock and a Hard Place: An Investigation into Marine and Ports' Failure to Implement a Planning Condition for a Mooring Registration", follows an investigation into a complaint made by the children of a local fisherman who had moored his boat in a cove for over six decades. The report concerns the Department of Marine and Ports Services' failure to implement key recommendations addressing a decades-long administrative error that has left a local fishing family without access to their mooring.

2024 Annual Report available in English - including article on the Children’s Division’s talks with children during monitoring visits
In the Parliamentary Ombudsman’s Annual Report, which has just been published in English, one of the articles is about how the Children’s Division conducts interviews with vulnerable children and young people in connection with monitoring visits. Including particularly how to build an informal and safe setting for a talk with a child or young person you have not met before.

Summary of the Ararteko’s 2024 Annual Report now available in English
The Ararteko has prepared a summary of its 2024 Annual Report in English and French to share the main lines of its content at the international level. The purpose of making this report available internationally is to inform peer institutions about the most important aspects of the institution's work and, in doing so, pave the way for future exchanges of concerns and best practices among Ombuds institutions that share the common goal of advancing citizens' rights.

Ombudsman for Bermuda Annual Report 2024 Tabled
Michael DeSilva, the Ombudsman for Bermuda, has submitted his Annual Report for 2024 to the Speaker of the House of Assembly in accordance with his statutory duty under the Ombudsman Act 2004. The report was tabled in the House of Assembly on 27 June 2025 and it is now available to the public.
