La Comisión de Derechos Humanos de la Ciudad de México (CDHCM) reconoce en la emisión de la Carta de Derechos para Mujeres y Personas Gestantes por parte de la Secretaría de Salud de la Ciudad de México un avance y oportunidad para favorecer el cumplimiento de obligaciones que forman parte del respeto y garantía del derecho a la salud, así como de los derechos sexuales y reproductivos reconocidos en la Constitución Política de la Ciudad de México.

La adjunta de Igualdad de la Diputación del Común, Beatriz Barrera, se reunió con representantes de la Asociación por la Defensa de las Pensiones Públicas, quienes denuncian que el sistema de pensiones necesita reformas inmediatas para eliminar la brecha de género existente y piden un complemento autonómico a las pensiones hasta llegar al Salario Mínimo Interprofesional (SMI).

Victorian Ombudsman says it's time to fix social housing complaint system
Nearly two years ago, the Victorian Ombudsman Deborah Glass tabled an extensive report into Victoria’s social housing complaint system. On 15 March 2024, the Social housing complaint handling – progress report was tabled, a follow-up on the 17 recommendations in the 2022 report. It notes advances in some areas, but also identifies a lack of clear action from the Victorian Government on much-needed major reforms.

Office of The Ombudsman announces results of direct investigation into effectiveness of 1823 in handling complaints and enquiries
On 7 March 2024, the Ombudsman, Ms Winnie Chiu, announced the completion of a direct investigation into the effectiveness of the 1823 service in handling complaints and enquiries, and made 13 recommendations for improvement to the Efficiency Office (“EO”).

An Award for Ombudsperson Gaby Schwarz – Burgenländerin Award 2024
At a gala event, the women's magazine "Die Burgenländerin" (in reference to the Austrian province of Burgenland) presented this year's awards to women from the region who are setting examples and leading the way on both small and large occasions. Ombudsperson Gaby Schwarz was delighted to receive the award in the category Society and Social Affairs.
