2024-08-01Près de 1200 signalements de lanceurs d’alerte dans le secteur privé en 2023
En 2023, première année d'application de la nouvelle loi sur les lanceurs d’alerte, les autorités compétentes ont traité 1010 signalements, qui ont donné lieu à 840 enquêtes. A ce chiffre, il faut ajouter les 209 signalements du secteur privé reçus par le Médiateur fédéral, qui en a transmis 22 aux autorités compétentes pour suivi.

La salle Daoukro du Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire a accueilli les travaux de la réunion du bureau élargi de l’Association des Médiateurs de l’UEMOA, le lundi 29 juillet 2024. La cérémonie d’ouverture, présidée par Madame la Présidente de l’AMP-UEMOA, a marqué le début des travaux. Monsieur SAKHO Mactar, Secrétaire Général du Médiateur de la République du Sénégal, a prononcé la conférence inaugurale sur le thème: « Les Médiateurs de l’espace UEMOA à l’épreuve des principes internationaux relatifs aux Institutions de Médiation », mettant en lumière les défis et les opportunités pour les Médiateurs de l’espace UEMOA.

Casebook July 2024 is the first of what will be biannual reports featuring case studies illustrating how the NSW Ombudsman achieves those outcomes.

Review of housing register applications following Ombudsman investigation
London Borough of Tower Hamlets has agreed to review the way it allocates properties after the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman uncovered it had a long backlog in processing applications to join its housing register. The discovery came when the Ombudsman investigated how the council handled an application from a woman who was resident in its area.

As EU countries grapple with a new wave of Covid-19, police, media and NGOs continue to report on increasing rates of violence against women and girls. This ‘shadow pandemic’ has a devastating effect on the rights of women and girls across Europe. The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) call on the EU and all Member States to redouble their efforts to protect women's rights and to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women with concrete action.

The Ombudsman for the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain signed a memorandum of cooperation and partnership with the Mediator of the Kingdom of Morocco, on the sidelines of the two institutions’ participation in the eleventh meeting of the Board of Directors of the Ombudsman Association of Member Countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.
