En 2023, première année d'application de la nouvelle loi sur les lanceurs d’alerte, les autorités compétentes ont traité 1010 signalements, qui ont donné lieu à 840 enquêtes. A ce chiffre, il faut ajouter les 209 signalements du secteur privé reçus par le Médiateur fédéral, qui en a transmis 22 aux autorités compétentes pour suivi.

First International Ombudsman Summit will be held in celebration of Office’s 35th Anniversary
2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Office of the Ombudsman in Hong Kong, China. To commemorate this important milestone, the Office will be hosting the first International Ombudsman Summit with the theme “Ombudsman in a Changing World: Learning from the Past; Preparing for the Future” on 3 December 2024 at the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

Office of the Ombudsman embarks on mobile accountability clinics
The Office of the Ombudsman in Malawi has taken to Kasungu for two-week Mobile Accountability Clinics. The clinics are a proactive mechanism that the Office of the Ombudsman uses to take the Office to the people reaching the heart of communities in the rural areas or areas that are far from the main office.

Reminder - Invitation to participate in a survey for the OPRAS project
The Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman and Professor Chris Gill (University of Glasgow) are conducting a joint research project examining the role of ombudspersons in the protection of refugees and asylum seekers (the OPRAS project). The corresponding survey, whose aim is to understand the work of ombudspersons in this area and to identify good practice, is still open until 27 September 2024. You can now also download the survey in Word format to facilitate its completion where more than one individual is completing it.
