MID-TERM MEETING OF THE IOI BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The IOI Board of Directors agreed to hold a mid-term working meeting from 7 to 8 May 2012 in Hong Kong, which is generously hosted by IOI Treasurer and Hong Kong Ombudsman Alan N. Lai. The primary focus of this meeting will be on the results of the regional consultation on the by-laws reform and preparations for the upcoming IOI World Conference.

EU rights and equality agency heads: EU countries must work together to eradicate violence against women
As EU countries grapple with a new wave of Covid-19, police, media and NGOs continue to report on increasing rates of violence against women and girls. This ‘shadow pandemic’ has a devastating effect on the rights of women and girls across Europe. The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) call on the EU and all Member States to redouble their efforts to protect women's rights and to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women with concrete action.

In March 2014, the International Coordination Committee (ICC) of National Human Rights Institutions holds its 27th Annual Meeting in Geneva. In the course of the meeting, four IOI member institutions in Armenia, Croatia, Guatemala and Haiti have been accredited as being in full compliance with the Paris Principles.
