IOI President undertakes significant cultural exchange, visiting Postojna Cave, Lake Bled and Piran on the occasion of his official visit to Slovenia
IOI President Chris Field PSM undertook an official visit to Slovenia following the very gracious invitation of his outstanding colleague, Human Rights Ombudsman, Peter Svetina. Alongside bilateral exchanges and a number of meetings with the most senior members of Government, President Field was given the great honour of visiting many of the beautiful regions of Slovenia.

La síndica, Esther Giménez-Salinas, se ha desplazado al Parlamento vasco para participar en el ciclo “Legeen geroa-El futuro de las leyes”, organizado por la cámara vasca y el Ararteko, defensor del pueblo vasco. Ahí explicó las funciones de la institución como supervisora de las empresas prestadoras de servicios básicos.

La Défenseure des droits et le réseau IPCAN se retrouvent à Strasbourg
Les 24 et 25 mai 2023, le Réseau police du Conseil de l’Europe se réunissait pour une conférence sur l’usage de la force dans le cadre des activités de police. La Défenseure des droits, Claire Hédon, et son adjointe, Pauline Caby, étaient présentes avec un certain nombre de leurs homologues du réseau IPCAN (Independent Police Complaints Authorities’ Network).

Ombudsman trains 68 Hospital Ombudsman
The Office of the Ombudsman has trained 68 Hospital Ombudsman from 34 health facilities in Salima and Rumphi districts. The trainings, according to Deputy Director for Investigations and Research, Temwa Mughogho, and Chief Investigations and Research Officer in the Northern Region, Mrs. Elleanor Kabisala, were aimed at empowering the Hospital Ombudsman with necessary skills and knowledge on how to handle patient complaints.

Ombudsman of Ireland publishes annual report 2022
The Office of the Ombudsman of Ireland published its Annual report 2022. Among others, Ombudsman Ger Deering, hightlights the ‘shameful’ situation that there is still no suitable government support to help people with disabilities access personal transport. This is despite a commitment from government over ten years ago to develop an appropriate scheme, and reports from two government departments highlighting the need for such supports.

The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Ajaz Ali Khan, helped a complainant whose pension dues were not paid despite the completion of all required formalities, complaining that the department was delaying the matter on flimsy pretexts.
