2018-09-05Tender for IOI regional subsidies 2018/2019
The members of the IOI Board of Directors decided at their Board meeting in Toronto to continue the regional subsidy programme for the membership year 2018/2019. The overall sum of subsidies to be released in 2018/2019 amounts to 42,000 Euro. The amount will be split equally between the regions (7,000 Euro per region) and will take into account that no subsidy granted should be less than 2,000 Euro. Submit your application until 05 October 2018!

Ontario Ombudsman Paul Dubé called on the Regional Municipality of Niagara to apologize publicly to a local journalist and a citizen blogger for seizing their property and ejecting them from a council meeting last December. People in positions of authority at Puffing Billy and other Victorian railway groups protected the reputation of their organisations at the expense of children who were sexually abused, the Victorian Ombudsman has found. Tabling her Investigation into child sex offender Robert Whitehead’s involvement with Puffing Billy and other railway bodies in the Victorian Parliament, Ombudsman Deborah Glass said the failures of people in authority were monumental.

Ottawa, October 31, 2016 – The 43rd Annual Report of the Office of the Correctional Investigator was tabled today in Parliament. The report documents that security incidents in federal prisons involving inflammatory agents, primarily Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) or pepper spray, has tripled since 2011/12.
