La Defensoría del Pueblo advierte que más de 824 mil personas en todo el territorio nacional podrían verse afectadas en su integridad y en sus medios de subsistencia, debido a la baja ejecución de los presupuestos que han sido destinados para mitigar los efectos de las heladas y friaje. En ese sentido, instó a los tres niveles de gobierno a intervenir de manera oportuna y eficiente en aquellas zonas en las que la población esté más expuesta a dichos fenómenos naturales.

Près de 1200 signalements de lanceurs d’alerte dans le secteur privé en 2023
En 2023, première année d'application de la nouvelle loi sur les lanceurs d’alerte, les autorités compétentes ont traité 1010 signalements, qui ont donné lieu à 840 enquêtes. A ce chiffre, il faut ajouter les 209 signalements du secteur privé reçus par le Médiateur fédéral, qui en a transmis 22 aux autorités compétentes pour suivi.

La cérémonie d’ouverture, présidée par Madame la Présidente de l’AMP-UEMOA, a marqué le début des travaux. Monsieur SAKHO Mactar, Secrétaire Général du Médiateur de la République du Sénégal, a prononcé la conférence inaugurale sur le thème: « Les Médiateurs de l’espace UEMOA à l’épreuve des principes internationaux relatifs aux Institutions de Médiation », mettant en lumière les défis et les opportunités pour les Médiateurs de l’espace UEMOA.

Ombudsman releases Annual Report 2020
Ombudsman John Walters bids farewell with the offices Annaul Report 2020 - a year which was, without a doubt, the most significant year. On 21 March Namibia celebrated its 30th Independence Anniversary with the Covid-19 pandemic on our doorsteps. Despite the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Office managed to comply with its statutory duties and to commemorate 30 years of Ombudsmanship in Namibia with the publication of a 30th Anniversary Commemorative Book.
