2024-10-10The Ombudsman resigns in order to become judge with the Court of Justice of the European Union
On 2 October 2024, the governments of the EU Member States appointed the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman as judge to the Court of Justice of the European Union. He will be sworn in and take office on 7 October 2024. For the same reason, Niels Fenger resigns as Ombudsman, with effect from the same day.

L’Île-du-Prince-Édouard devient la dernière province à nommer un agent indépendant chargé d’assurer l’équité et d’offrir un moyen sûr de déposer des plaintes en divulgation dans la fonction publique. À titre d’ombudsman de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard, Sandy Hermiston entrera en fonction le 14 février 2022 et deviendra la première ombudsperson et commissaire à la divulgation dans l’intérêt public de la province. Le Conseil canadien de l’ombudsman parlementaire (CCPO) accueille chaleureusement la nouvelle personne.

Le Médiateur du Faso, madame Fatimata SANOU/TOURE accompagnée de ses plus proches collaborateurs a entamé ce vendredi 04 février 2022 une série de visite de courtoisie aux anciens Médiateurs du Faso. Cette sortie l’a conduite respectivement chez madame Amina Moussou OUEDRAOGO qui a dirigé l’institution de 2005 à 2011 et chez madame Alima Déborah TRAORE qui a été aux commandes de 2011 à 2017.

El defensor del Pueblo a cargo de la Defensoría Provincial de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes, Gabriel Savino, fue uno de los principales oradores del Simposio Jurídico Digital de Cyberseg Latam, que se llevó a cabo en la Universidad Nacional del Litoral bajo el lema “Enfoques y Desafíos en la Lucha Contra el Cibercrimen y los Delitos Sexuales Online”. En su intervención, abordó la creciente complejidad del entorno digital y sus implicancias en los derechos de niñas, niños y adolescentes, resaltando la necesidad de adaptar las instituciones a estos cambios.

The Chief Ombudsman of Thailand received several complaints related to preventive or support strategies in the pandemic of Covid-19. The main focus was put on relief measure to “leave no one behind”, assistance from the Telecommunication Sector to support people working from home during the pandemic, and the general shortage of medical equipment.
