Ombudsman calls for review of disability pensions penalized in the assignment or when they became old-age pensions
The Ombudsman, Maria Lúcia Amaral, addressed a suggestion for a legislative amendment to the Minister of Labor Solidarity and Social Security in order to revising the invalidity pensions of the two social protection regimes which were penalized by the sustainability factor on the date of their assignment or when they were convoked in old-age pensions at 65 years of age.

In the course of the 2017 Chief Executive (CE) Election, the Registration and Electoral Office (REO) lost two notebook computers, one containing the personal data of 3.78 million electors. Having examined the two reports on the incident, the Ombudsman commented on them today (July 18).

International conference on the problem of air pollution caused by domestic heating
On February 27, 2018, the Ombudsman for Future Generations, together with the Hungarian Clean Air Action Group, in partnership with the German Umwelthilfe and the Danish Ecological Council organized an international conference on the problem of air pollution caused by domestic heating. Nearly 80 experts attended this event, representing the competent ministries, environmental authorities and non-governmental organizations.

Victorian Ombudsman announces facilities that will be inspected regarding the use of ‘solitary confinement’ and young people

In a special report released on March 21, 2018, the Québec Ombudsman spoke out against the detention conditions of people serving intermittent sentences in Québec correctional facilities.
