2021-09-17Almanac on Kyiv International Forum on Roma Inclusion
On 27 May 2021 the Kyiv International Forum on Roma Inclusion was held at the initiative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova. Based on the results of the Kyiv International Forum, it was decided to publish an Almanac, which will be published quarterly. The first issue dedicated to the Forum is now available.

2022-08-11Ontario Ombudsman publishes Annual Report 2021-2022
Ontario Ombudsman Paul Dubé on August 10, 2022 reported that public concerns and complaints to the provincial watchdog have returned almost to pre-pandemic levels. His office fielded 25,161 complaints and inquiries in fiscal 2021-2022, an increase of 25% over the previous year. Most (52%) were resolved in two weeks or less.

On 28 February 2014 the Ombudsman of Ukraine Mrs. Valeriya Lutkovska presented her Special Report on “Violations of human rights and freedoms during events which happened in Ukraine over the period since 21 November 2013 to 22 February 2014” according to paragraph 3 Article 18 of the Law on the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

2013-01-18Ombudsman suggests amending the Criminal Procedure Code in order to comply with UN decisions
The Ukrainian Commissioner for Human Rights, Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska, submitted a request to the Prime Minister of Ukraine concerning the elimination of violations of the right of legal protection, caused by violations during judicial proceedings. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, instructed the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to consider this issue and determine ways of its solution and as a result make proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
