Ombudsman implements new child-friendly section on the ombudsman website
Chief Ombudsman Peter Boshier says the aim of this new section is to provide information to tamariki, rangatahi and whānau who may be considering making a complaint about Oranga Tamariki or its care or custody providers. The development of the information for children is part of a wider programme to enhance the Ombudsman’s oversight of Oranga Tamariki.

Ombudsman hands over the Annual reports of the Ombudsman and NPM to the Speaker of the National Assembly
On 6 June 2024, Human Rights Ombudsman Peter Svetina handed over the 29th regular Annual Report of the Human Rights Ombudsman and the 16th report of the National Preventive Mechanism for 2023 to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Urška Klakočar Zupančič, MA, after he had forwarded it to the National Assembly one day prior in accordance with Article 5 of the Human Rights Ombudsman Act. After the meeting, the Ombudsman and the Speaker of the DZ made a public statement.

For the last five years, an average of 420 pedestrians have died in traffic accidents each year. The Transportation and Procurement Affairs Committee of the Control Yuan (CY) has approved an investigation report and submitted a corrective action case to the Executive Yuan on 9 April 2024.

Access to justice for asylum seekers and refugees: a call for help from IOI members

The CCAC completes “Inquiry report on Chief Executive Order no. 57/2024”, which means the complaints about selling prices and subsidy ratios for the 2019 economic housing units. The CCAC suggests the relevant departments pay more attention to the work of disseminating preliminary information and broadening the general public's knowledge in order to allow them to better understand and gain knowledge of the relevant legal regime about economic housing.

The Alberta Ombudsman has released a public report on his investigation into the Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) program which found systemic issues in how the program assesses intellectual capacity. Inmates at PEI’s Provincial Correctional Centre will have more access to telephone services following an inquiry into multiple complaints received by OmbudsPEI. PCC’s telephone policy will no longer limit inmates to a small list of approved telephone contacts.
