AFRICA: AOMA General Assembly and 1st Bilateral Conference held in Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Institution of the Ombudsman (EIO) hosted the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA) - African Union (AU) 1st Bilateral Conference and 4th General Assembly from 4 to 7 November 2014 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. IOI President Adv. John R. Walters delivered a message of support in the opening ceremony of the Conference.

CANADA/QUÉBEC: Make public education available to all children with a precarious immigration status

In a report released on 7 November 2014, the Québec Ombudsman recommends that all children 6 to 16 years old living in Québec have access to public education, regardless of their or their parents’ immigration status.
