IOI EUROPE: Prof. Lipowicz confirmed as new Regional President

Following the election of Peter Tyndall (Ombudsman of Ireland) as 2nd Vice-President of the IOI in Vienna in October 2014, the IOI’s European Region carried out an electronic ballot to elect his successor as Regional President of the IOI Europe.

IOI EUROPE: Amended regional by-laws available online

At a Regional Board meeting in Vienna in October 2014, it was agreed that the a proposal should be put to all Voting members to amend the Rules of the European Region of the IOI to allow for the election of a Regional Vice-President.

Mr Wayne Lines, recently appointed Ombudsman SA

AUSTRALIA: New South Australian Ombudsman appointed

Mr Wayne Lines has recently been appointed as the South Australian Ombudsman (effective from 18 December 2014). Mr Lines is just the sixth Ombudsman appointed since the establishment of the Office of the Ombudsman in 1972.

On 19 December 2014 Commissioner Man Chong FONG completed his five-year term as Commissioner Against Corruption of Macau. His successor, Commissioner Weng Chon CHEONG assumed office on 20 December 2014.

PAKISTAN/SINDH: Sindh Ombudsman orders Sindh employees social security institution for payment

A complainant approached the Provincial Ombudsman of Sindh stating that a cheque  issued by the management of Kulsoom Bai Valika Social Security Institution Hospital towards the supply of some material by her firm was dishonored.

FINLAND: Upward trend in complaints broken - number of inspections increased

The number of complaints received by the Parliamentary Ombudsman of Finland no longer increased last year as the Ombudsman received slightly more than 4,600 complaints.
