WORLD: APT report on children’s vulnerabilities in detention

The Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) held a symposium on „Addressing children’s vulnerabilities in detention“ in 2014 and published an outcome report which provides an overview of the context and key principles related to children in conflict with the law and deprived of their liberty, as well as the main risk factors and situations which need to be addressed by NPMs.

IOI: Reminder for regional subsidies 2014/2015

The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has recently appointed Hon. Bahame Tom Mukirya Nyanduga as the new Chairman of the Tanzania Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance (CHRAGG).

UKRAINE: Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights received “A” status

On 29 December 2014 based on the results of examination of two years of activities of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights the Bureau of the International Coordination Committee of National Human Rights Institutions (ICC NHRI) has granted to the Commissioner for Human Rights the “A” status - the highest status of compliance with the UN Paris Principles.
