IOI: Tender for IOI regional subsidies 2014/2015

In its efforts to further increase the regional impact of the IOI, the members of the IOI Board of Directors decided at the Annual Board Meeting in Vienna to continue the regional subsidy programme for the membership year 2014/2015.

UK/NORTHERN IRELAND: Human Rights Project

The Northern Ireland Ombudsman and the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission entered into a Service Level Agreement in October 2012 for the purposes of a joint project to develop human rights based approach to ombudsmen investigations.

IRELAND: Complaints against HSE centres can be made to the Ombudsman

Ombudsman, Peter Tyndall reminded the public that his office can examine complaints about the HSE and all HSE-run centres, including nursing homes. This follows the shocking scenes in the RTE report on Áras Attracta in County Mayo.

CAYMAN ISLANDS: Complaints Commissioner resigns to accept top UK appointment

The Complaints Commissioner, Nicola Williams, has tendered her resignation and has accepted the appointment as the UK Service Complaints Commissioner – the Ombudsman for the UK Armed Forces, based domestically and worldwide. She will leave office in early January 2015.

PAKISTAN/SINDH: Civil Hospital Administration Dadu ensures alternate power supply for the benefit of a dialysis patient

A complainant approached the Provincial Ombudsman of Sindh, Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik, stating that his father was admitted in the Urology Department of the Civil Hospital, Dadu for dialysis. Due to frequent power break down, the Hospital management was required to operate a power generator for alternate electricity supply to the Hospital and particularly for dialysis patients.
