IRELAND: Ombudsman to investigate how public hospitals handle complaints

Ombudsman Peter Tyndall has today, 13 June 2014, announced an investigation into how complaints are handled by public hospitals in Ireland and has asked members of the public for their assistance.  The Ombudsman’s wide ranging investigation will look at how public hospitals across the State manage and investigate complaints from patients and their families.

PAKISTAN/SINDH: Ombudsman Sindh inaugurates Regional Office in District South

To provide prompt and inexpensive justice to the people at their door steps’ is the motto of Ombudsman. In pursuance of this objective the Honourable Ombudsman Sindh Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik inaugurated yet another Regional Office of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh in District South Karachi on 15th May 2014. This is the 16th Regional Office in the Province.

POLAND: Meeting of the Visegrad Group Ombudsmen (V4)

On 12-14 June, 2014 the Human Rights Defender of Poland was hosting the annual meeting of the Visegrad Group Ombudsmen (V4). The meeting, held in Bia?owie?a, was attended by Ms Anna Šabatová, Public Defender of Rights of the Czech Republic, Ms Jana Dubovcova, Defender of Rights of the Slovac Republic and Ms Elisabeth Sándor-Szalay, deputy Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary.
