IOI | President of the IOI attends Conference of the Ombudsman Association

IOI President Peter Tyndall delivered a presentation at the Ombudsman Association (OA) Conference 2017 which was held from 25 – 26 May 2017 in Loughborough Conference Centre in England.  In his speech on international best practice of how to be more effective, Peter Tyndall provided input and recommendations on how to achieve effective change in public services.

A number of workshops over the course of the two-day conference dealt with subjects relevant to Ombudsman work such as: informal resolution, increasing impact, quality assurance, measuring and reporting on performance against service standards, and creating the culture to succeed.

In addition to the speech of the IOI President, presentations were held by Linnea Grandhi and Tom Blaser on “Noise” and overcoming inconsistent decision making through peer audits as well as by representatives of the Financial Ombudsman Service, the Pension Ombudsman, the Financial Service Ombudsman Bureau, the Local Government Ombudsman and the Queen Margaret University.
