Greece | Ombudsman presents special report on migration flows and refugee protection

Greek Ombudsman Andreas Pottakis will present a special report on migration flows and refugee protection. This report focuses on human rights and the 2015/2016 migration and refugees crisis management and will be launched in Hall on 1 June 2017.

Suggested topics to be discussed during this event are:

• The flow of information between institutions regarding fact finding missions, legislation and administrative practice;
  
  
• Problems in the access to asylum procedure;
  
  
• Specific issues regarding vulnerable groups;
  
  
• Returns, relocations and resettlement - new challenges, in human rights monitoring, procedures and accountability;
  
  
• Joint actions and missions at bilateral and multilateral level.

Speakers include Dimitrios Avramopoulos, Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship and Inmaculada Arnaez, FRONTEX Fundamental Rights Officer and Nikos Voutsis, Speaker of the Greek Parliament.
