BackThe Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees have been cooperating on combating violence since 2016. A project on “Empowerment of Women in Displacement Situations” continued this year and covered four regions.
In the first phase of the project organizational work was done and publications were prepared. In the second phase it is planned to conduct training in IDPs communities by national experts. Workshops were held in April 2017 in order to increase the capacities and skill of these trainers.
In her speech the Head of Unit for the Protection of the Rights of Migrants, IDPs and Refugees focused on the awareness raising events held by the Ombudsman in the capital and in regions in this regard. She also informed participants about the formation of equal rights systems in society, additions and amendments made to the legislation and guidelines how to appeal in case of violence.
