Ombudsman Günther Kräuter with Professor Xigen Wang, Gerd Kaminski, Xiaowei Gui and Ulrike Grieshofer
On October 17th, the renowned Chinese Professor and lawyer Xigen Wang visited the headquarters of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) and the Austrian Ombudsman Board.
The visit was initiated by Gerd Kaminski, Vice-president of the Austrian-Chinese Society and Director of the Austrian Institute for China- and Southeast Asia Studies, who, together with Xiaowei Gui, another Professor from China, formed part of the delegation. IOI General Secretary General and Austrian Ombudsman Günther Kräuter presented the work of the Austrian Ombudsman Board as well as the initiatives of the International Ombudsman Institute. Particularly the cooperation with Asian IOI members and the comparative research conducted in the Asian region was thoroughly discussed. Prof. Xigen Wang did not only show great interest for the work of the AOB, but also expressed his wish to cooperate with the Austrian Ombudsman Board and the International Ombudsman Institute in the future.
