The IOI’s first NPM training specifically designed for Ombudsman institutions functioning as National Preventive Mechanism (NPM) was a great success. Building on the feedback from participants, the focus of this follow-up NPM training will lie on the monitoring of psychiatric facilities.

The IOI is currently developing the second edition of this NPM training together with the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT). Feedback from the participants of last year’s training will be taken into account in the process. In addition, provisions will be made to ensure a more practical approach for the Vilnius workshop. Our training host – the Seimas Ombudsmen’s Office of the Republic of Lithuania – is therefore planning to arrange a visit at a psychiatric hospital in Vilnius.

Save the date for this NPM follow-up training! More details on the program, the registration and the availability of scholarships will be brought to you in due course.
