Estonia | Capacity-building workshop on human rights in the digital age

Dear colleagues and members of the IOI,

You are kindly invited to attend an IOI capacity-building workshop “Human Rights in the Digital Age” that will be held from 23-24 January 2018 in Tallinn, Estonia.

The workshop will explore contemporary challenges in digital society and Ombudsmen’s role in protecting human rights on the Digital Age. How to define good services in the Digital Age? How to implement interdisciplinary approach to protect citizens´ rights in digital society? What should be a reasonable balance between security, public interest and privacy? These are some of the topics we are going to address at the workshop. Inevitably, situations in different European countries differ from each other, and therefore, it would be interesting to compare and learn from each other’s experiences.

The working languages of the workshop are English, French and Spanish. Simultaneous translation in all working languages will be provided.

You can find the draft programme, registration form and practical information at the official WORKSHOP WEBSITE; the registration deadline is 1 December 2017.

Should you have any organisational questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Kertti Pilvik by e-mail (kertti.pilvik@oiguskantsler.ee) or by telephone (+372 693 8434).

I am looking forward to seeing you in Tallinn!

Sincerely yours,

Ülle Madise

The Chancellor of Justice of Estonia
