IRELAND | Autumn 2016 issue of the Ombudsman’s Casebook

This Casebook contains summaries of recent cases the Ombudsman has dealt with. The Ombudsman hopes that by sharing the outcomes of cases, we will all learn from the mistakes and good practice of others.  

The cases summarised in this Autumn's Casebook include complaints about:

  • the refusal of learning supports for pupils with disabilities (RACE scheme)
  • investigation and complaints procedures
  • lost property in a hospital
  • job seekers allowance, guardian payments and other social welfare schemes

The Casebook is conveniently organised by subject area (Health, Social Welfare, Planning, Housing, etc.) and contains cases from across the country.

The Ombudsman’s Casebook is published every three months in electronic form (see below).
